I would advise to save your money, and not to buy from the website. You can get the Gold pack that includes both games from EBgames, or Gamestop for only $30...a $15 difference compared to this site.

You need to buy the Gold edition to get both, The Dark Avatar expansion pack does not include Dread Lords, which is needed for Dark Avatar.

Be sure to get a first hand copy in order to be able to update correctly the game

BTW, you can always become a TGN member (see here http://totalgaming.stardock.com/index.aspx ), you will spend 70$ to get 10 tokens. And GC2 Gold costs 5 tokens, which translate into 35$. ANd you will have 5 tokens left to purchase something later ...

But that supposes that your gaming PC has a broadband connexion to get the digital download.

I do not save any money by buying the games from EBgames. The game is shipped from the USA and I live in Denmark, which ads an additional 24,99 Dollars to the price.

having a hard time finding a dealer that sells Dark Avatar. I've ordered dread lords at 58 DKK which is 10,65 Dollars

Using digital download (as available when ordering the game in Stardock store) means that no shipping is involved

Thats is understandable since there isn't any deal to sell DA in Europe.

Nice price by you really need to have a first hand copy to be able to upgrade it from version 1.0 to 1.5 in order to play Dark Avatar.

BTW, with TGN membership, DL, which cost 2 tokens, would cost 14$

And what do I do, if I want to have both the Download and the CD-Version is that also possible with TGN-Tokens?

It means that nobody else has used the serial Id associated with your game. Take a look a the following threads https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=162&aid=115253 et https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=162&aid=122873

I don't want to download the game, since im changing to vista soon.

Well Stardock Central (SDC), the program that allows you to download games available on TGN (or patch those games if you have an older version), allows you to create archive of a game, which you can burns on CD or DVD (depending on the size). And SDC is able to install game from archive. This procedure can be used to get update the game to an offline computer as described here https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=162&aid=161222

And what do I do, if I want to have both the Download and the CD-Version is that also possible with TGN-Tokens?

If all you want is a backup version for reinstalling, it is better to burn your CD with an archive from SDC.

Well it didn't say anywhere that it was a used game, just cheap.

I have never said otherwise. I was just stating that if you plan to buy DL to be able to play Dark Avatar, you need a first hand DL copy. I hope that Paradox didn't mess with the serial id in Denmark like they have done with the french localization (some first hand french copies were shipped with used serial ids).

And if you plan to get both DL and DA, you should look at the total price you will pay to get those 2 and not necesseraly to the price of each and if you end up using SDC to get DA, you perhaps should also use SDC to get DL

BTW, once you have registred your serial Id on Stardock servers, you are able to download the whole game as many times as you want. It was very useful when my hard disk crashed in March: I needed just my e-mail in SDC, then did lookup for serial number in SDC and all Stardock games I have previously purchased and registred where available for download and installation on the new hard disk.
