Game hard crashes

Hey guys, iv played gal civ 2 a month ago with no problems, however, after buying new ram and a new widescreen monitor gal civ 2 go black and HARD crashes and makes wierd beeping/crackling noises as i play, this SAME problem accoiurs to me on other games as well! bug report : found in dark avatar debug file:

If the same thing is happening with other games as well, that tells you right away that it's most likely a hardware problem. And since you just got new RAM, that's the most likely culprit. I'd advise looking up MemTest86 on google and using that to scan the memory for flaws (or alternately, if you got more than one new RAM module, you can try removing them one at a time to isolate which one has a problem).

I just finsihed running memtest 86, it said that there was no problems, also plz keep in mind that only a select few games crash in the same manner as this one, the vast majority dont, so plz help me

Try reseating the ram and all the cards. Sometimes things can work loose a little when you are working inside the case.

If all else fails, you might want to exchange the new ram for a different brand. Some brands of ram don't work together so well with certain motherboards or even other brands of ram.
