Bridge Collapse is Example of Crumbling Infastructure!

We have wasted $44 Billion in Iraq to rebuild their infrastructure and do nothing to deal with identical problems in America. We spend $12 Billion each month on a lost cause in Iraq. Last month it was the steam line in New York. Let’s keep burying our heads in the sand!

If you served in the military, I would guess you may have been an E-3 if that.

being an E-3 is a lot better than a pretend col or any other rank.
and yes you can be in the military and of that rank and still be pretending.

i feel sorry any troops you may have led into battle. because you would have abandon them on the battlefield if the battle was too hard.

I see from your bio you spent 25 of your 30 years in the reserves, Col. While the reserves are respectable, that hardly makes you the General Patton you would have us believe you were.

Your comments show a lack of discipline, decorum, and consistency that I would normally expect from a career officer, Col. You fly off the handle way too easily for someone who allegedly had responsibility. I'm guessing your main responsibility as Col was setting up tents for the poker run!

I never claimed to be. The issue was the use of colorful language making prior military service null and void.

Nuclear Weapons Officer, three commands, nomination for a flag and selection to attend the Army war College does not square with your opinion of what I did. Promotion to COLONEL in 19 Years and the Meritorious Service Medal on two occasions and the Army Commendation medal also do not comport with your opinion of my service. Sorry if I think of your opinion what I said to ZYDOR:

“Although you are entitled to your opinion the one you expressed about me and my military service is inaccurate, in ill-informed and unjustified.”

no you are.

all you have stated is that you will leave iraq because it is too hard to win. and at the moment the iraq army is depending on us to train them and have their back.

BS! I can and DO exist on 30k AND I live in PA. AND I own a home.

Good you you. I do not know where in Pa you live but that would not work where I live!

Try Pittsburgh!

GET YOUR SMALL MIND ARROUND THIS- When these systems fail and people have no alternatives, guess who will be forced to pay the bills. The magnitude of the needed repairs is so great that the States alone simply do not have the tax revenue to do the repairs. The repairs are not being done. That will not stop these things from failing.

What "you" say don't mean squat! Like I said the US government DID NOT step in to help CA When they were having electrical problems! I know that for a fact! Because at the time I was living in San Diego! So try your BS somewhere else, because it ain't flying here!

We should leave Iraq because:

We have no business in the Civil War which is the vast majority of the fighting.

The Iraqi PM has said his forces, which we have spent 4 years training, can defend Iraq.

Case CLOSED!

YOU display you ignorance about the military with everything you post. To be promoted to E-3 is almost automatic unless the soldier screwed up. To be promoted to Colonel requires hundreds of evaluations including 20-40 OER's each of which is completed by the next two officers above the officer being rated. Promotions above Captain include a review of the officer’s complete record with input from scores of more senior officers. You are not a wanna-be-Idiot-- You are a true IDIOT! P.S. There is NOTHING pretend about my rank which you would have learned if you had served in one of my commands.

I guess this isn't about a bridge that broke anymore. I guess its not about the people who are dead because of our faulty system of checking out our engineering structures sufficiently.

It's pretty much Col Gene and Gideon going at each other because they don't have much better to do evidently.

I'm sorry to offend you I just thought a little perspective might be in order, not necessarily targeting you for anything, just observing you two were bringing up issues which are a graveyard of dead horses.

I was waiting to read about, the moon landings Bush faked, and the tainted Busch Beans that were Bush's fault next.

The collapse of a bridge while people were working and commuting on it is a tragic event, but not the first or last time it will occur in history. It certainly cannot represent a failed Presidential administration to anyone looking reasonably at that situation.

The bridge in Minneapolis is not a Hurricane Katrina, it's not a failed Iraq war, it's not 9/11. It's a bridge that slipped through the cracks of inspection wasn't closed because it was too important to regional transit, and apparently was going to be reviewed in another year or so.

It was subject to a variety of physical factors that culminated in a tragic result. Though the exact cause is yet unknown, it wasn't aliens from outer space, it wasn't tide shifts, or gravity from the planets aligning, it wasn't Communist China, and it wasn't the fault of the Bush Administration. Directly or even remotely, indirectly.

As I said. Repeatedly. But somehow you missed that!

Part of that Graveyard contains 3,600 dead Americans because of GWB! Other parts contain $4 Trillion of debt, millions of illegal aliens, failed energy policy, failed education policy etc. Make light of what I post all you want it does not change the truth of what I say not change the serious consequences of the actions from this president!

There's really no point anymore with gene, he has convinced himself that everything that happens in the world is somehow related to Bush, and the democrats will save the world with their brand of socialism.

The Results clearly show that Bush and his policies have not resolved ANY of the major issues that face our country. I have acknowledged that Bush did not create many of these issues but he has failed to deal effectively with any of them. So he either created the problem like Iraq or the $4 Trillion he added to the debt or failed to deal with issues like Energy, Immigration, Social Security, Education, Trade, health care, Infrastructure.

Where is your proof that what I said in my last post is not true?

Whenever people on this Blog site have no answer to what I have to say, they either ignore the post or try and change the subject.
