the problem i see is that logons are so easy to create, why would any moron want to rip another one off.... all you need is an image and viola....and if you can't create one in photoshop or some other program like that, you can take a picture with your digital camera, or use someone else wallpaper or image and give them credit for their work and note you thought it would make a nice logon.

and not only do kids not grow up with any morals these days, they take the shortest cheapest route to anything they want....what happened to hard work and the rewards that go with it?

No. It's only an explanation of how to change the background, translate text into Polish and export it to *.logonxp format - without changing an author etc.

You should first explain what's really going on ;].

In the introduction to this tutorial I wrote - "you can change the background for your own usage, eg. to the photo of your puppy or girlfriend". It isn't my fault that people are redistributing this logon as theirs own work.

so, I make a logon.... someone changes the background but leaves my name as the Author.. The background says, Kill the president.

Is this entirely the kids fault? There are people that are supposed to be instilling morals in kids...they're called PARENTS. If your child is growing up without morals, you need to take a long hard look at your morals.

Zagorskid - if you want you can file a complaint with [email protected] and see what happens.
That email is posted from a server maintained in the central region of Texas here. It would seem the poster may have used a proxyserver to do so though. But it would be good to see what if any they find for that mail.

That and it would be good also that any tuts for working with logons be wriiten in some better fashion also. The information at hand you have provided is very short and sweet. But that is for those that do not use the newest forms of logons which can not be changed in anyway shape or form. That or they stop working completely!

I really dont see what Zagorskid has done wrong. He simply wrote a tutorial on how to change a logon background for personal use. He has never advocated uploading others work as their own. He is not to blame for what others do with that information.

His tutorials are no different to some of the tutorials here at Wincustomize Wiki, they also show how to change backgrounds etc of other peoples skins, as long as people realize that doing this is for personal use only, then there is no problem. The writer of a tutorial cannot be blamed for what others do with the given information.

Boss you really should consider a career in the Diplomatic Corp, who knows, one day you may even be the U.S Ambassador to Poland.

I believe that the tutorial simply was a means to enhance peoples abilities to make logons for personal uses. Most of us are good with graphics, but many are not. This i feel was his way to help.

People who cheat cannot be stopped, only thwarted. Why not put a signature on your graphics, that might just help reduce this theft.

And anyways, to all the people who got hurt by this, people if you can recognise your work, be proud that people felt your work was good enough to be ripped. Of all the logons, yours were the ones that attracted them the most.

Did you really send him that ? With that language? Excuse me? Please tell me you didn't say it like that? I can understand your complaint but with the use of the language I would say we have a real issue with the way we ask someone not to take something without creating an angry person who would be more willing to take your stuff. I don't like that wording very much here either. What type of message does that send to those who have had their parents pay for the programs for their kids and find something like this in the Forum. Come On Please have some respect for those who wouldn't think to post something like this.

But Polish is your native language right?What I meant is that no one should be slammed if they only speak or understand their native language.It is their right.  

First off, I did not send an email. The only person I contacted was the person at DA that posted a logon using the tutorial. I asked him to remove, he said he didn't know it was my logon that was used from there, and he kindly removed it.

He left me a link to the site, and since I don't speak Polish, It just looked like a site on how to rip logons.

zagorskid explained earlier in this thread that it's a tutorial for personal use and I accept that at face value and apologize.

But I did not send him any email at all.

Messiah1.... i know kids that are in the best home, have everything they need, very involved parents....and of those particular kids...6 in total within 3 different families....one is a drug addict, one is in prison, and the other is dead from being in a gang....and as for my own son, he is being raised right....but kids will keep secrets and have outside influences like other kids, friends etc.... so please put your foot in your mouth.... maybe you are right, i shouldnt blame the kids, or parents in some cases....but all the people out there that have made this a push button convenient world... but i do not feel this is the issue here, if you'd like to debate this further, please email me..... i myself am a technology proffessor and see what kids do all day long...the good, the bad, and the ugly

A little tip for future: before you accuse someone in public, try to dissolve your problem privately without unnecessary confusion. It will be simple and civil.

and why would anyone need to make a tutorial on how to make a log on, when you can get that from here, the creators of the program.... i read the other one, and to me it simply explains how to rip one off.... if you felt people needed a tutorial...simple email or post a link to the software creators site, they'll get a much better explanation anyways. and why would you need to edit a logon with your own picture etc, when it reality it is faster to take your picture and make a new one anyways.

Zagorskid, as you are now a member here.....if you were to consider posting this tutorial here, would you not think of asking boss’s permission to use his work as an example given the sensitive subject matter of altering anothers artwork?....or to perhaps ask for his thoughts as to how to approach it given that you must think highly of his work to have singled him out in the first place?.......and if so, then why would you have not thought to do this before posting the tutorial with his work front and centre on the existing site where he finds out about it from being redirected from a rip?....a bit of communication goes a long way.....



easy to say for some......for others, a lot of work goes into them, especially when you’re learning. After making plain logonstudio logons for a while, I am now learning how to make the splashes with boss’s assistance....when boss started making them, he had little to no assistance and spent a helluva lot of time laboriously working it out for himself and honing them to become the cream of the crop they are. He spends a lot of time generously sharing that knowledge, without hesitation when asked, with people who genuinely want to learn and has had so many rips of his work that he has even supplied the general public with a basic one for them to build on.....WWW Link
still the rips, now with encouragement tutorials....no wonder he gets utterly bloody infuriated.......

I’m sorry Zagorskid, your intentions might have been pure, but it came off looking really dodgy. You’d be better off doing tutorials to help people make them than “borrow” them!

I strongly disagree. Leaving the original Authors name and only changing the background is wrong. wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong! I understand the intentions were not harmful. The tutorial should be changed showing people how to add their name instead of the original Author.

You think Boss got mad about this, wait til he sees a logon with his name on it that says "Gay Power!"
