Hay, Those who are haveing error messages "Logon Vista has stopped working" i might have a solution...i have being experimenting with the Logon Vista Files and figured out how i got mine working, if you delete the Folder "Skins" then refresh ur desktop it should work, for some reason Logon Vista doesn't like the Default Skins lmfao! weird i no, but have a go it might work for you people
End of quote

YEA IT WORKED .. thanks man.
after 4 months ... now it works ^^
Hope Stardock fixes this problem for the next version

I think I found a sulution and you dont have to delete the skin folder for some reason when i installed
logon studio on vista the skins file was called skin just rename the folder from skin to skins and it
should work.

Well, my folder is also called skin, but I can rename it to whatever I want, LogonStudio won't work. That is on a fresh Vista-32 machine and installed through Impulse.

"Logonvista has stopped working" I´m having this problem also and none of the proposed solutions are working for me...

Any solution here from Stardock development team? This app is intended to work with Vista, right? I´m on vista 64 ultimate ed.

Thanks in advance and greetings

In this folder:

C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\LogonStudio

was a folder named Skin.

I changed it to Skins, and the program worked.

Who knows.

Pretty crappy.

I'm with Shinigamiboi and Mycatisdave. The total lack of real `(second line) support is really dissappointing. And yes, I have a ticket which is gathering dust in their office, and no, I don't have a folder 'Skins' (it is called skin on my machine and removing it does not help).

Shame this doesnt work.  I had it working fine before Vista x64 SP1 and set a great logon screen, now I want to change it I have the same issue as everyone else.  Removing or changing the skin folder makes no difference what so ever.

Hope it gets fixed soon.  If I wasn't using the free version I'd be a bit miffed with the support too.

i downloaded it yesterday and it works fine on vista 64 bit.maybe stardock updated it :|

yes i had the same problem but what you have to do is first download impulse from stardock.com. After installing impulse click store and then free and then download logon vista. install it throug impulse and it works perfectly. oh and only run it through impulse.

I tried renaming the "skin" folder to "skins" and it did not solve the crashing issue.  I'll just have to continue using the older version (1.00.005).

When a company sells programs, and also provides free ones like what Stardock has going on, shouldn't the freeware have as good of support as the software they sell, or even better?  In hopes that it will sell their other software?  Seems like a no-brainer to me, obviously not how you should conduct business.  Stardock's lack of support on this issue and this problem has people scratching their heads for more than a year now, and LogonStudio's users have had to solve the problem on their own, and they still haven't patched it.  I would never buy a piece of software from Stardock, all because of this very simple issue that they seemed to have turned their backs too.  Their freeware should be selling their other software for them, not the opposite.  Wonder how much money this underlying problem has cost Stardock in the long run.  Funny.

You Are A Genius. I have looked all over and trying different things and you are the first person to have an idea of what to do. Thank You So much! Now I can creeate my own logons again
