WindowBlinds & Acts of God

Slight delay

As some of you may have heard, there's been massive flooding in the UK.  This is affecting two of our developers which is likely to result in a slight delay in the WindowBlinds 6 beta on Object Desktop. The new projected date is next week for both SkinStudio 6 and WindowBlinds 6 betas.  The picture on the right was taken by a WindowBlinds developer.

The betas of WindowBlinds 6 and SkinStudio 6 will be available exclusively to users who have Object Desktop.

In the meantime, here's a screenshot of WindowBlinds 6 Alpha running on Windows XP (note the blur effects).

Even worse, the cricket was cancelled due to a little dampness in the outfield...

That's a shame, from what I read ya'll really need the practice.

Seriously though, everybody try to stay safe & dry. I recommend patience too.

Well, sorry to say, but the first think I would do is turn off the "Blur" and if I could turn off transparency I would do that too. To me, seeing anything behind another window or dialog is extremely distracting. I see from the screen shot that you can indeed turn of the blur, but if a skin was built with transparency, can that be turned off in Windowblinds 6 also?

To all those in the UK, I hope the flooding passes quickly for you and your lives get back to normal soon. I lived in the UK for three years while in the military and absolutely love the country and the people.

If you are running Vista, just turn off DWM. That shuts down all transparency. I'd imagine v6 of WB will have an actual function to do it though.

Will WindowsBlinds 6 be able to skin the Windows Vista Volume dialog when click on the volume icon in the system tray and the Calender when clicking on the clock in the system tray. WindowsBlinds 5 does not do this.

Those two parts have to remain white due to hardcoded values in the OS.
