Fortified Civilian Ships Upgrade Buglet

This is a small buglet still present as of Beta 2-18. If you research the Fortified Civilian Ship Upgrade to give your trade and refinery ships more hull hitpoints, a small oddity happens. Instead of going from say 500/500 to 600/600, you only get 500/600.

Now the AI thinks these ships have been damaged and needs repair. The Robots Crusiers will chase these ships all over the map trying to 'repair' them up to full health. The ship do not stop at a repair dock to repair themselves either. A simple code fix would be after the upgrade research, make sure the ships are at the new full ship hull strength.

Hmmm, are you saying civilian ships don't auto repair over time? I could have sworn they did.

I can't remember if they do or don't now... I do remember needing a repair facility in range of my trade port, as the ships were arriving in pretty poor condition due to pirate attacks...

Yes to your quote. Civilian ships will not auto repair themselves back up to their new health; in fact, they never do.

Hmmm well that kinda makes the need for repair bays near your trade ports much more useful.

Why don't civ ships repair themselves? If I'm policing the star-lanes right, they shouldn't need much repairs anyway -- why should I spent tactical slots on a repair station that doesn't do me much good when the system is attacked rather than on another hanger bay, or a phase jump inhibitor?
