marauders from thin air?

i thought the marauders were supposed to start from the sun in some way...

well, last game i saw some marauders emerging from thin air:

so, bug or feature?

i have a save game that always generates those marauders at one of my planets (though a different one on every reload), entering from somewhere above the planet plane, and a save at the point of the screen shot if necessary, just tell me where to send them if you need those...

I think its a feature

It forces you to have some units in the back etc. If they only appeard from the sun i dont think they would serve much of a purpose. Since you could then block em off like you do with the enemy.

I think one of your opponents researched insurgency.

The "rebels" created by this tech are marked as pirates, and appear to be able to spawn anywhere.

i read insurgents spawn in-system, not above it?
wouldn't make sense for them to spawn outside, would it?

Their insurgents, their your own people.

yeah, so they would come from all your world in small ships, to make a sizable fleet where you couldn't see it. so above the system in this case.

Hey how come the civilians can travel outside of the gravity wells and phase lanes, but we can't. If I don't get an answer soon, I may have to make an example out of one of my own planets.

Veee have vvays of making you talk!
