Long load times for saved games

i have galciv2 gold
loading a saved game takes minutes (saving takes secounds) is this a bug? i've incl. the debug.err from galciv2\darkavatar, but there doesn't seem to be any errors:

It depends on what you mean by "minutes" but with your specs you can expect anything over a medium map halfway developed to take a while to load. My pc is just slightly better and I can go visit the restroom and get a cup of coffee while larger maps are loading.

Yup i concur that the delay in loading is down to the system specs more than the game. The new versions of the game do seem to take a little longer to load than the previous ones but no that much longer!

Especially 512 MB of RAM is very little. Stocking up to 1 GB should help somewhat.

I just recently bumped up from 512MB of ram to 1GB and it does make a big difference. Not only in load times for the game , but even quicker reaction to just navigating around windows and various other programs.
