Upgrade from ObjectBar 1.65 to ObjectBar 2 ???
from
Stardock Forums
I'm using ObjectBar 1.65 and use it with the basic Windows XP luna blue theme. I primarily use ObjectBar to customize the Start Menu and the clock in the systray to have the date and seconds in the time. I only use ObjectBar and nothing else from Stardock. I do have a previous of Windowsblinds that I've paid for, but I no longer use it. So I essentially only use ObjectBar to primarily customize my Start Menu -- and I'm happy with just doing that with ObjectBar.
I would like to know the benefits of upgrading to ObjectBar 2. I've read in the forum messages here that the theme that I'm using with ObjectBar 1.65 should work in ObjectBar 2. I've also read in the forum messages here that ObjectBar 2 has widgets. I really don't care about widgets.
(If you are reading this and if you are a fan of widgets, then I'm happy for you but I don't want widgets. I've played with widgets in the freebie Desktop Sidebar software, with widgets for Opera, and found I really don't care about widgets and I expect to feel the same way if I try out widgets with ObjectBar 2. I just want to customize my Start Menu.)
Anyways, I'm wondering if ObjectBar 2 is better than ObjectBar 1.65 in terms of stability and in memory/resource usage. I've been basically happy with ObjectBar 1.65 except when it has one of those rare crashes. I ask this because I would have to again pay for ObjectBar to get version 2 and I'm wondering if I'm getting more value in terms of stability etc if I buy version 2. I received an email from Stardock for a survey and I did the survey and got that $5 discount which would make for a reduced $14.95 price for Stardock 2 for me to take advantage of. So I ask: Given the above, is it worth buying version 2 to upgrade from version 1.65 to version 2?
