Laptop LCD Failure

Change Resolution

I lost the LCD on my Dell laptop and had the game set to 1440X900 resolution. I plugged in an external monitor at 1280X1024 res. and now the game freezes on startup. How do I change the game resolution to work at the new resolution?

The file you need to edit is Prefs.ini, located in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 (for Dread Lords).
Dark Avatar has its own, so make sure you edit the correct file.

Open the file with Notepad and set these lines to:

[Video]
DisplayWidth=1280
DisplayHeight=1024
ColorDepth=32
