i won my first full game

sunday morning around 5:30 in the morning i got sleepy decided to save the game and leave it running.
when i woke up about 7:30 i heard that my planet was being attacked.
when i turned on the moniter it said i had won everyone else was out of the game
it was normal ai and 3 ai's
i had taken out one ai, severly damaged another took his home planet and had left my fleet in it to defend it
so i can only guess that the pirates took out my ally and what was left of the other ai well i was sleeping.
so therefore i really think that the pirates ate just a tad too strong.
and with 3 other stsrs why were all four of us in the same system
