Some small feedback

Backdrop, Repair Platform

Hi. Just like to say that Sins is looking very impressive at the moment. Here is some of the feedback I have after a few hours play. Don't think any of these have been mentioned... and they are just my opinion so far.

1. The Repair Platform's descriptions are confusing. It's tool tips says 'Mustn't be self and have hull damage', which for a while I read as it meaning that the platform must have damage to work. Something like 'Cannot repair itself, and it's target must have hull damage' sounds better.

2. I have noticed a 'seam' like effect on the backgrounds, a pair of parrelel lines from north to south where the texture appears different between them. (Graphics card Ati X1950Pro).

3. Maybe it's just me, but building and research seem very quick compared to how long it takes to gather the resources required to initiate them. A suggestion would be (but I'm not sure how it'd be implemented) is Civ4-like 'Game Speeds', where a longer game has longer production/research times, but units can still move around at the same speed.

That's what I have so far. Really like the Diplomacy, and it's just enjoyable to play =D.

I'm personally happy with the game speed so far, but I agree 100% that adding "New Game" sliders to adjust production and research times would be a welcome addition. Even something as subtle as a 1.5x increase to ship production times could change up the way people play, encouraging them to retreat and preserve existing ships rather than battling them to death and simply building more.

It's there when you're placing it, at least in my game.

It's also there when you select it and hold alt. Though the bug where it spends all it's antimatter trying to "repair" structures that are being built in it's radius is...well, it's there.

Ah yes ALT , got it, thanks

I agree with the sliders... Would love that- that's one of the saving graces for GalCiv2 so that I don't play a single game for a week. Time to go play more...

So.. do repair platforms repair stuff in their radius, or the whole gravity well? one of the tool tips says 'Repairs Freindly ships near the planet' ...

The repair was within the radius before.

It only repairs ships within its relatively small radius.

On which ones? a Screenshot would be most helpful to show exactly where this is happening.
