Planets and Ships resort to tactical views and not 3D

I have a problem, after playing a few games, I get to a point where all the 3D graphics on the display dissapear. All except for the stars. When I zoom in, they stay as 2D shapes on the screen.

Is there a fix for this, because it has even happened to me on vista as well as xp. Even after a fresh install.

Put the tactical view zoom level slider in the options back to the middle. The "problem" you're experiencing is simply due to setting it all the way to one end, so that the icon view is always on regardless of zoom level.
