Widget Stuck

DesktopX 3.5 Pro

Odd, I was playing around with a few Clock widgets and this one in particular "Omni" won't disappear. I tried right clicking>close widget and nothing. Tried from the DesktopX icon and nothing as well. I've been having this problem since last night. I have tried uninstalling the program and the widget was gone. But, this morning I re-installed the program and this Clock widget is back again. Clear Cache doesn't work either. What can i do? I would like to use a different clock.

Thank-you

In system tray search the widget icon, right click and set in property to don't run at startup. or/and in startmenu/startup/ deleted the entry of the widget

I searched the file for the icon "omni"and right clicked to delete. Rebooted and this widget is still here. I can't access the properties on that widget because it shows a blank screen (Weird, all other widgets has options and such there). The start menu/startup <-- don't know where that is. I'm running XP and there is no startup function after the start button.

I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that, The screen is blank under properties of that icon. Usually there is Appearance and General settings Tabs.

While in desktopx builder mode..
Right click on builder mode icon > select Import
Tick off " Widget" to bring up widget list
Highlight the Omni widget..click on open.
Right click on the widget and select " Export"
Make sure " Export as widget " is checked off
and " selected and related"
Click " Next"
Rename widget in widget name box to Omni Clock_2
Then under "Accessability" check off " Systray"
Click next
Save widget as: Browse to widget folder ( if its not already set to save there already)
Click Save then finish.
Before closing desktopx - rightclick on desktopx icon and click on " new desktop"
"Save current desktop" Click no
"Reset Desktop settings" Click Yes
Now...bring up processes ( Ctrl/Alt/Del )
Look for the omni widget that is running and End task the Omni widget.

Open your Widget folder...find the original Omni widget and delete it. Reboot to be sure you deleted widget..then open the new renamed Omni clock_2 widget.
OR
Just use your Control/Alt/Delete and end task Omni Widget - reboot and then just delete the Omni Widget from Widget folder and clear cache then go redownload the widget from Tiggz's Gallery again.

that's not what he meant, unless you were referring to the startup folder. Just in case, some widgets automatically put in a system tray icom from which you can access different option. In the case of the 2 Omni clock I know of...

Omni (both Omni Analogue & Omni Time) will have an icon showing down in the system tray if you right click the widget > properties > accessibility (choose one: taskbar, system tray or none) - right under that is the option to run at start. So if the icon was in the tray you would right click > properties > uncheck run at start.

If the clock is still there, right click it, etc (see above) - make sure it's unchecked

open task manager (ctrl+alt+del usually) find DXWidget.exe and kill it.

go to start > all programs > startup > Omni and right click on it > delete - if you get no pop out menu on 'startup' right click on it and the folder will open - delete any Omni shorcut you see.

go to C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\DesktopX\WidgetCache
where 'Owner is you' (need to have hidden files unhidden) and delete the Omni cache folder in there. log off/log on see if it still shows up

No it wasnt...I understood perfectly..

but he stated that " The screen is blank under properties of that icon. Usually there is Appearance and General settings Tabs."
So it appears he has the systray icon but he is getting a blank screen where properties usually are..I've seen this happen ...but usually when it does the widget will close with windows error after awhile. Hard to tell when people ask a question then never return to let you know if they fixed the problem or not.

Im sure he must have the widget mistakenly checked off to start at start up.
