Looking For A Few Good Skinners: The WC Wiki

Help build a new piece of the customization community

This week we're installing the server that will host the upcoming WinCustomize Wiki, so soon I will be able to open up access to select users as we begin the process of populating it with good information, and working to decide the best format to layout and present it to users.  To do this though, I am in need of a handful of members from the community that are willing to donate some of their time and a fair bit of their expertise to get the project off the ground.

I am looking for people to help contribute content such as:

  • Product Information
    We're including more than just Stardock skinning software in this encyclopedia, and to do that we need people with a solid knowledge of those other products and companies.
  • Tutorials/Documentation
    Basic to advanced, short or long, any sort of how-to to skin any given application or portion of a User Interface.  Do you have existing tutorials you'd be willing to contribute to the wiki?  That would help out too.
  • Community Information
    Though this is the WC wiki, to provide a broad view of the skinning world, we would like to populate the wiki with information on fellow community sites. 

Those are just the three topics I have off the top of my head.  If you feel you could make a meaningful contribution to the wiki before it launches, I'm all ears!  When we launch the wiki in the coming weeks, I want it to have a strong platform of content for everyone to start from and build upon.  If you're interested in this, please leave a comment on this story and I'll be in contact with people once we're ready to get rolling.

you made 500 mb video tutorial to teach people to copy, paste, flip & import image.

yeah.. copy & paste, copy & paste, like so.. ugh!


If made WB was so simple all people could be made one so where are yours?

Quentin, making wb IS easy.
however i take a look at your olphi wb & i can understand your feeling.
now, i'll start to contribute by making constructive criticism to your wb.
there are too many useless files in olphi folder: 49 useless png, more than 100 useless luna bmp, 21 avi (you only use 5) & 1 gif (your joking right?).
instead of creating new images, you recolored many luna parts for your wb: toolbar buttons, logoff & shutdown buttons, background images. have you asked permission from mickeysoft?
you used tga for your regular logoff shutdown background which should be a bmp.
you didnt set transparency & translucency for your logoff shutdown background perpixel.
please wait dialog almost made me fell off my chair.
taskbar & blue start button looks wierd & dont match the skin at all.
start menu looks like been bitten by a cat. and your coca cola font argh..
i'm not being rude,i tell you the truth, just take it as constructive criticism.
and quentin, you should watch the video before making any comment, otherwise people will think youre blind.

that's your feelings not a constructive criticism, for the font it's not the coca cola font in more.

toolbar buttons it's an error and i'm gonna to deleted the skin today. at first i gone to built my own toolbars but i forgot this sorry.

logoff & shutdown buttons and background images it's not true at all i made them.

Before two things it's not the place where bash others (and it's what i would like to tell you on first comment) there are email and pm for that. second where you contribution (for remind this tread is here for people who want help the community) as part bash others and made bad criticism what do made for this community?

Since they're so simple to do, when can we expect your first skin? You're ready to ridicule the efforts of others, calling the work easy but I don't see you contributing anything.

It's one thing to disagree with style, not liking a particular skinner's work since that is largely a matter of personal taste, it's something else entirely to assume the work itself is easy. Especially when it appears you haven't done any of it yourself.
