Fleet Membership / Realignment

"Oh, No! We've been reassigned to the Dark Lord of the 6th!"

Please make it easier to realign fleets - particlarly to remove units. It's a pain to select a couple of units you need to detach and then reselect all of the other units in the fleet to redefine its identity (particularly if you have more than one fleet in a g-well). Otherwise you end up with fleet(s) spread across g-wells.

On a related note, unless the intent is to allow fleet/taskforce (or squadron) identifications, please remove the capacity for units to belong to more than one fleet.

You can easily add ships without reselecting. What you do is select group of ship around one planet and set them to number one then deselect. Then go to another planet, select the ships you want to add and press shift+1 and you have a bigger cake for enemy. Although I don't know how to easily remove ships from group.

I have to agree with the suggestion. I find the current fleet management system cumbersome.

Maybe just have something like ctrl-shift-x that would remove the selected ships from fleet x?

Adding ships is easy, removing them is hard. We need a way to remove them!

Agreed. Like the trusty old ctrl + ~ from Homewolrd.

You can simply select the fleet, then shift-click or shift-bandbox to deselect the ships you want to remove, then reassign the remaining ships to the same fleet number.

Then you have to re-select the ships that you unselected in order to assign them to a new group (after all, you are probably taking them out of one group in order to put them into another).

I'd call that cumbersome.
