Does the emperor of High Command Hegemony still play?

I would like to see Wyndstar promoted to emperor of the High Command.

I was checking out the High Command Hegemony's Empire records and it doesn't look like the emperor has played in a long time. If thats the case, and he's an inactive player. I would really like to see Wyndstar promoted to emperor. I would join the empire then. As far as I can tell he is leading scores there right now and it's the number one empire right now. Wyndstar posts a lot, and has organized tournaments and stuff. I just figure that since some people are going to play this game and move on to different games or get married. That if there is a request to change emperors that it would be allowed if the emperor was absent too long. That way the metaverse and empires always stay up to date with who is playing. Is it possible to do something like that?

No, I have not played a metaverse game in awhile, but that doesn’t mean that I am not playing. I have been playing, but with mods, in particular the high res mod, which is not Metaverse compatible. And, I am by no means inactive. I have worked hard to organize the High Command Hegemony, and continue to do so. I spend quite abit of time recruiting and promoting of the H.C.H. I feel bad that you think that I am an absent leader, but I am not, and continue to promote the H.C.H.

I have tried my best, especially over the last seven months that the H.C.H. has existed, but there are going to be times when I am more around than others. I really hope you visit the H.C.H. site, and read over the H.C.H. thread here on the forum. You will see that have not disappeared, and am inactive.

Best of wishes,
AlexAtticus

You dont have to have a large score to be a good emperor.

In my opinion Alex is doing the right thing by concentrating more on the community and enjoying the game, instead of playing for a high score or a large number of submitions.

I wasn't sure.
I'm glad to hear it though.
I didn't realize you were still around.
My apologies.

Look at that... You get first place then everyone is out for your head! Trying to overthrow the current Emperor in favor of a tried and true Warrior. Hostile Military Dictatorship moving in.

Diplomacy and politics versus Military Genius.

Wyndstar is a great overlord, one of the best the H.C.H has. We are very blessed to have him as a member. As a matter of fact, we are very blessed to have all of our members. However, if you ask him, I doubt very seriously he would want to take command of the H.C.H., I doubt any of our members would want to fill the shoes of an Emperor who has worked so diligently to bring this wonderful community together.

In the end the H.C.H. is not about Wyndstar, Alex Atticus, Marshall O'Neil, Unknown Joe, Nelio, Dark Snathi, Hobbitween, Shu Shu, myself or any other individual player. It is about all of us as a community. We stand together and share the same philosophy on game play. Whether we are not currently ranked or if we are ranked in the top 25. We play the game to have fun. That is the philosophy set forth by our Emperor and that is the common ground that we all stand on. If that is your stance. You are very welcome to join us. Although I do not understand why you would want to leave the Galactic Diplomats.

Thanks Quixen, very well put, I couldn't have put it better myself.

I guess getting to number one really does put us all under a very powerful microscope, and people are going to look for any possible weakness. But, through our unity of philosophy, and strength of our community, we will preserver!

I guess I need to start wearing a neck guard, that would be a pretty picture   . Luckily though, if my head rolls, the H.C.H has a great ruling council. A lot of the fun I have had with GalCiv2 is the organizing of the High Command Hegemony, and the building of our community. For as long as the H.C.H. exist, I will do my best to make sure the H.C.H. community remains strong and active.

Best wishes,
Alex

I'm going to ponder this, because I knew so little about your empire before making assumptions. It shows how much I know about my emprie. So far I think I like your empire more. Will you be creating an empire in Sins as well?

Thanks Quixen. I like everyone in our empire that I have chatted with so far. No need to speculate though, I most certainly do NOT want to be emperor of anything. My life is very busy, and I couldn't give it the proper time it requires. Alex does a great job.

Indeed, I wouldn't be a part of this empire if not for him. I was a member of the Quorth empire a long time ago, because someone there invited me. But I never managed to get in touch with anyone in the empire, and they didn't have a web page. I eventually left, because I didn't feel part of a community.

Almost to the day I became "unaffiliated" I got an invitation in my email from Alex about joining the HCH. You were in third place at the time, and I was considering asking the Diplomats if they would have me, because I kind of wanted the first place medal. But I decided that someone that took the effort to recruit me deserved my loyalty, and it might be fun to try and help the third place empire take first.

I don't know to what extent my efforts over the last few months helped us take first place. Honestly, we rose over 2 million points in about 45 days, that could only be the work of a lot of people. It was a fun challenge all along though. I'm pleased to do what I can for the Gal Civ community as a whole, and our empire in particular. That doesn't mean I have the time or energy to manage something.

So I guess, kudos Alex! I think you do a great job, and if not for your work I may have never joined the HCH. I'm glad I did. Its a great empire.

Onward to 10 million points

Edit - Not that I don't also appreciate your vote of support Matthew. I've never asked to be emperor, I just do the best I can with the time I have. Honestly, I think you should think about joining the HCH anyway, it is a great group of people. I haven't even asked to be an "official" rep for the HCH to the Metaverse Council, I'm not sure I would have the time to give it the kind of thought it requires, and Quixen et. all already do an excellent job there.

Double Edit - About a month back, however, Alex was gracious enough to appoint me to the HCH Ruling Council. So it is not like I don't do anything for my empire

It takes time and considerable effort to track down and organise potential members, and Alex has done a good job doing so. There are only so many hours in a day.

Lets not go down the slippery slope now the Empire is in the number one slot - we are here to play a few games and have a bit of fun. Thats how the Empire was started, and thats how it should remain. I joined for a bit of fun, not intercine warfare. I can find the latter anywhere in the internet should I want it. Lets keep to the family fun spirit not only of the Empire but of GalGivs general excellent culture.

I've got a deal with the Snathi - they will savage any attempted military coup
