Moment to Moment

With palms together,
Good Morning Everyone,

In Zen Buddhist practice we aim to see everything as it is, precisely as it is without thinking about what it is. In this way we see profundity in everything as everything is deeply the universe expressing itself. We are not always successful. We don't always hit his mark.

Do not give up!

As we walk out our door this morning, we should vow to see what is there without referencing what we think it there. In this way we will see more clearly what needs to be done. If I meet someone thinking meeting them is an intrusion in my life can I truly see them?

If I think my inability to run or walk as I used to is a hindrance or pain, can I really appreciate the flower I pass on my way? Or the footstep I do take?

Our thinking about what is there is not what is there: its a shadow distorted and twisted by our mind.

We practice to notice this and to, in effect, be "porous" as one of my students pointed out.

Today especially, it is important not to hold onto yesterday or the day before or the day before that. Instead, let your day be a day of moment to moment practice.

Be well

This is true. Holding on to yesterday's pain and mistakes and problems, hinders us from moving on because instead of moving on and learning a lesson, we hold on to the pain and keep manifesting it in our lives.

Wise words!

Thank you. This practice is a real challenge! Especially with moment to moment replays. I try my best to television or radio news in any form for this reason. I slipped the other day and listened to CNN and then FOX on my XMSR in the truck. Big mistake.

Be well.
