Having problems with the edit feature

I had some of the same issues. I resolved it buy getting 2.0.0.3 as up to date as possible.

I continue to have minor problems with things like mouseover glow effects in the middle of my monitor, and some minor problems with borders in the middle of my secondary monitor. i suggest changing WB skins and FF themes to try and find a happy medium.

Using FF 2.0.0.3 & XP PRO SP 2 no problem with WB or FF themes. I use the default theme for FF to show WB themes both old & new. You may need to minimize & rightclick on titlebar & or maximize FF & righclick to solve. This was posted on this site for the same issue, by whom...I am not sure but it seemed to work.

They install but do not change themes after i restart the browser.

You need to install, restart then apply theme & restart.

When using FF themes WB only skins the window frames of FF. When you say not skinning, if you are getting classic titlebar restore then maximize window, or vice versa, to get WB skin titlebar, sometimes will get no titlebar, do same process from taskbar button for FF from right click on it.

I'm running firefox 2003.

If you mean 2.0.0.3, this is most up to date version, not all FF themes will work with it.

Must ask just to be sure; You are selecting theme to be used after installing and before restarting FF.

Haha, thanks Cavan... Now I will not forget

There are quite a few themes that do completely skin FF Orange Crush by navigastio,..in fact all of his blinds & elsdee, maya, Worse ect as well as some more golden oldies like popsicle & wb skinners WBs. They skin all of the icons & dropdown arrows& scrollbars. The others change the background & font colors & borders. Fuzzy's & vStylers do not for example.

So I wonder what the differences are in those blinds or is the difference in the versions of SkinStudio

Can you clarify what are mine doing or not doing plz My Secret ? ...and are you talking ports or my regular Wb's as well? I just checked all my skins in FF they seem to be skinning everything except but the dropdown button which Firefox skins itself. I have 2.0.0.3.

Just how the skins are made. All skins from at least WB4 should all skin as much as is possible in FF when using default FF theme. Slight differences would be things like tool bar buttons, Orange Crush has a normal state for this so on tool bar always have a button look. Where as Tritan by vStyler does not have a normal state so only see a button when mouse over tool bar icons.

They skin all of the icons

I assume by this you mean the buttons and not the icon images as the icons are the default FF theme icons.

Hey vStyler, same version FF here, when using default FF theme, the dropdown button is skinned by WB.

dropdown button is skinned by WB.

Is it supposed to be? Or.. in other FF themes do the visual style dropdown buttons show?

Yes when using default FF theme, when using other FF themes anything that is skinned by FF theme overrides WB skin.

Hey My Secret, vStyler; the difference is as I said above, vStyler has no normal state for tool bar button, so only have button when mouse over icon, and with not having either skin can only suggest that vStyler is just using a very simple menu background as compared to what I.R. used. Just different skinning styles, nothing to do with WB/Skinstudio versions or FF.

ok..good.. thx both of you. Its just I prefer non skinned toolbar buttons is all. Using them has been a WB preference it seems until a couple of years ago. Always looks too busy to me. Glad it wasn't some kind of bug. Cheers.

Just downloaded Stargate, it applies as it should for FF. Same as your screenie My Secret. The menu/toolbars are not just classic color, they are an image with very subtle texture, hard to see at my 1280x1024 res on 17" monitor but it is there.

Side note; My Secret you should not use I.R.'s skins to compare with anyone else, even I.R. will tell you most of his work is over the top.

I am glad to know its not a bug either and just skinning style, Thanks Cavan & vstyler for the clarification. Depending on my mood I go both ways Very lean & clean WB to over the top busy.

OOPS !~! Sorry I thought they were a good comparison.. From everything I've seen they pay so much attention to detail and put out such quality work.

Back to Rustysam & 511b hope you are able to fix those issues & get back to enjoying WBs.

No problem My Secret.

vStyler, update; can't say for all FF themes (rarely use them) but for the three I just tested, none of them skinned the dropdown button so the button from WB skin was used.

Thanks for all the help. I am happy to report that widowblinds and the regular firefox themes are working. I was surprised that my question generated so much interest.
