Subspace ship movement

Hyperjump

Hello folks,

I recently purchased GalCivII and i'm loving playing it.

One of my favorite features is the game's focus on detail and flexibility.

There was however a thing on which I would appreciate commentaries:

In the game theory, every ship moves using a hyperdrive that folds space and can travel to large distances in short time, using subspace.

So why does every ship that travels more than 2parsec/week has to go around starbases, suns, planets,etc.. wasting precious movement points?

I would suggest: When we click on the ship's destination, we should see a visual effect of the ship doing a hyperjump and re-appearing along the path if the destination isn't reached on the end of the turn (a week).

Thanks.

Just had a thought , If you surround a planet with 8 starbases then surely troop ships could never land unless they bring armed escorts. please don't get bogged down with why this is a silly logistical nonsense, Cause it is.

I still prefer fast attack ships with few weapons for troops.

As to your point, I just play it as it is and little things like that are just the way the game works compared to theory

P.s. Just another thought. What would happen to a planet if you started warp drive in the atmosphere or even traveling towards it. Would the bending of space time leave the planet untouched?

Not sure this can be done since only 4 starbases are allowed per sector.

No idea. Then again, I am not a Quantum Physicist.
