Help - My Pc doesnt think its installed

I downloaded gal civ using the "install" option, it seemed to go smoothly enough and the game plays. However when I go back to stardock to download any of the add ons it tells me the game is not installed. If I download these add ons to archive , when I unzipp them they are unreadable what am I doing wrong? or how can I tell my Pc that Gal Civ is installed

I talked to support. Here's what they say:

1) Unload Stardock Central and then reload it, there's a slight update that addresses this. It should automatically download and update itself.

2) Select GalCiv and choose install again, it SHOULD then find that you have everything you need and then remark it as installed.
