Okie lets try this again... Help with WBs..

I Have a question with windowsblinds 5.5 and Vista..

Is anyone else experiencing the "transparent or clear" blinds that one finds on this website *dreamland and moonflower vista perfection as examples* ACTUALLY show up as white or grey instead of clear or transparent?

Other than that issue, I have NO problems with running WB 5.5 on my Vista...

Any advice to help them show up like they should would be appreciated...

Thanks much

Anne

*if one wants or need system specs just let me know *

I am mainly wondering if I can fix it and if anyone else has this issue.. and if so maybe why me and if others are having this issue.

Thanks again

Anne

What version of Vista? And yes, the System info from WB would help.

Two explanations I can think of:

1. The shareware version only supports transparency in the skins that come with it (if you are using the trial version).
2. Your hardware doesn't support the Aero transparency effects (doesn't have the DWWM or whatever it is).

..yeah , basically if your using the full version of WB then its likely your video card is not able to handle tranclucency. Either that or you have "never use per pixel on a skin" "checked" in System information area in WBconfig. If so.. un-check it.

Or...it's Vista Home Basic.

I am running Home Premium and my card can handle Aero and Transperancy effects just fine..and Yeah I am running the Full version of WB 5.5

I am running
3.0 Ghz Celeron Processor
1 gig RAM
100 gig HD
ATI Radeon x1300 with LATEST video drivers installed...

The "transparent or clear* skins work some times.. and while they work they are amongst my fav type of blinds/skins to run..

Hum I can check out the "per pixel" Option and see if that helps or not ..

Thanks

Sorry .. Sure I can post it..

Okie the problem I found was that my "default" skin or blind was set at windows classic or windows Standard...

Meaning that when I unload WB or when WB is not running the windows are set a "windows classic or windows standard"

When I switched back to Vista Aero's theme *which then Enables transperancy* and then loaded up a "transparent or clear" WB skin, it worked as it was supposed to...

As to why the blinds weren't working unless "Aero" was firstly set, I am not sure..

I just know that when I have Aero enabled and THEN run a transparent or clear WB skin, it shows up clear instead of grey or white or such.

I hope that makes sense...

If further clarification is needed Let me know and I will do what I can

Blessings
