I am also having a problem with the sound and I'm running Vista. When I enter one of the menu options the event music gets crackly.

I also have this problem.

I have an HP2315nr with Vista Home Premium. I ran the Driver Update app, and it installed a new Conexant driver but the problem remains. I turned off all the acceleration options for video, thinking it might be a processor load related issue, but no joy. I also increased my VM size to 4G to 8G.

My Vista Experience number is 3.0, but no one seems to use that number right now.

I don't believe this is completely a Stardock/Galciv2 problem. Guild Wars also seems to have some popping with its audio, but not as much. Also, Apple iTunes has stuttering video/audio when playing movies.
