Question about talk/negotiate with other races

I tried to 'bribe' the Drengin Empire into attacking the Yor but the Yor were not in the list so it was not possible to select them.
Checked to see if there was an allience but this was not the case.

If there some limitation of who can atack who (no evil against evil??)

maybe they're at war already? have you checked the diplomatic screen? what's the color of the line between them?

There are two attack's in the diplomacy screen. Usually if it's not on you're side it will be on their's... however you're side 'asks' them to go to war, the attack on their side 'demands' it! :)

Just tried that (the one on the left) and i was thanked for my generous gift and am now at war with the Yor (which i did not want (:( )

The one on the right still does not show Yor and no they aren't at war already. It shows trading in the overview between Drengin and Yor.

Perhaps their relations are too good and they won't attack. They're not allies with the Yor I assume?

I noticed the same thing earlier in my first game. I wanted to get my bestest buddies the Drengin to go mop the floor with the Torians, since they'd just got a very good precursor artifact that may have let them beat me. Torians weren't an option in the Drengin attack thing.
Fortunately, the Drengin went after them of their own accord a couple of turns later. Silly evil dudes. ;)

Anyone have any other explanations of this?
