Applying a skin!!

Wish I could say it doesnt happen to me but it does.   

I don't have to restart.. try going to display properties, then settings, then advanced, and then under general choose apply new display settings without restarting.

Thats the way I have it set, but still have the problem. in fact it tries to change the skin but only about half or so is changed. Unless I reboot it wont complete the change. This started when I upgraded to WB 5.5

same here.. not all the time but quite often.. hopefully this can be fixed.

I noticed it is not completely skinning Internet explorer either. did not notice this earlier, since I use FireFox Wish you people woul fix this. I don't want to uninstall and go back to an earlier version!

"You people" here in the forums are mostly program users just like you.  If you want "you people" to fix this I would suggest contacting Stardock support directly at [email protected] .

May I have more info as to system you are using and what build wb is installed and your members status please and I'll do my best to get you fixed up correctly.

here another good look, nothing better then a good skinning. I thought WB 5.5 was out of beta stage????

you're running 5.5 = no files look borked.

a lot of skins lose the top effect when maximized

which skin is that?

dWax I would look into upgrading the graphics card a bit more to atleast a x1300 and configuring the wb's you use via wb configuration window instead of display propeties...

LOL the Saphire X800 will walk all over the x1300 it will even out do the x1600 and x1650 why would I want to downgrade???And I always use WB to change the skin, I just opened up a window to show what it was doing. Now just why the #**% you bothering me don't have anything to say positive then something. this is a support board,you want to raise hate and content go some where else.

I wouldn't expect receiving much support with an attitude like that.

Like that would be the first time that would happen,I have asked here and many times sent a email to support. It's always hurry give us your money, but wait support stand in line.

Ok you are using wb config. to change the wb's with - what are the settings for Override default settings. Plus what are using for a firewall and anti-virus / anti-spy and so forth?

Plus do you have a backup of the former wb version in the sdc archives? If you do can you go back to the former release and solve the problem you are having? If not let me know whats what and we will try to go from there ok...

I dont even see an error in ur screeny, looks more to me like a badly designed skin.

I think I found out what is causing this to happen. I have several skins I bought and are run through Stardock MyColors when I use MyColors it skins every thing and don't have to reboot. I wonder if it is giving Windowblinds a problem. Maybe not compatible??

Maybe there is a conflict.

When My colors came out, a lot of us wondered if there would be a version to use with the products we have already purchased (WP, IP, CXP, etc) since we had no need of an addition OEM version of the same apps.

I have seen posts before of similar issues with AlienGuise Installer.


Generally with AlienGuise, you can open it up and extract the .wba to use with WB.

try: uninstall My Colors, reboot, try WB to see if it's as it should be.

Ya thats the problem. now I'm in a pickle I have 3 different suites in My Colors and it's corrupting WB

Anyone hear when My Colors is going to be updated to resolve these problems? I seen on the news on WC front page awhile back that it was being updated,but no news since. Still having the same old problems. I would hate to uninstall My Colors,since I have 7 suites that I like and would loose.Maybe Frogboy could give us an update? "Please"
