How to speed up your game

Hi everybody,

New to the forum. I just recently purchased Dark Avatar and have a problem: my CPU is too slow for the game. Are there any ways that I can speed up the game on the options menu so that I do not put too much stress on my CPU and memory while playing Dark Avatar? Thanks!

1.7 GHZ
512 MB Physical Memory
2 GB Virtual Memory

Stick with smaller (probably medium and smaller) maps with fewer planets and civs.
Video card is also a consideration (which you didn't specify), so you might want to turn off Anti Alias and reduce the number of background stars and nebula's.

And don't use the intensive AI algorithms.
