Autopilot

Odd... The manual gives not enough details and no index unfortunately (and typical of newer strategy games sadly). Anyway, I have found two advanced ships in astroids but I can't move them. When I try to a screen pops up with a blurry pic of a person of sorts "saying" I must set the ship to autopilot to re-fuel at a friendly planet. Well the only autopilot choices I find are autopilot-attack and autopilot-retreat. And retreat does nothing for the ships. How do I get the ships to a colony (planet) to re-fuel?

Thanks

Just select the ship and right click in one of the sectors that is owned by you.

Select the ship, then right click on your closest planet to engage the auto-pilot. It returns to the planet to fuel. After which you can use it normally. The reason you can't use it now is, you will notice, out of its operational range.

hi
left click the ship. it's higlited then in the mini map up at the top right you should be able to see a blue grid. this represents the range of the ship from its home world you can place the mouse any where in the range bix and then right click. it should retreat.

hope this helps

Thank you! :) Did you guys figure this out on your own or is the info provided somewhere? And if provided, where is it?

The idea was if you use the mouse to move ships around it's being set to autopilot.

I almost never move via mouse, I greatly prefer the curser keys or the numbers area. The manual claims (if I read it right) that numlock should be active to use those keys to move around. Oddly, numlock is off for me to move around with those keys. Too bad the manual ain't more explicit.
