Dark Avatar Install Problem

Lockup when intalling DA at 45% - revolt_yellow.PNG

I've downloaded DA several times, just to make sure the .sdc file was not corrupt. However, everytime I try to install or restore from archive, it stops responding at the 45% mark --- the file is 'revolt_yellow.PNG'. I have the latest version of both GalCiv2 and Stardock. Has anyone seen this or a similar problem before? any resolution?

If there is a problem with that file, you may want to try getting DA from the other server. In SDC's settings, go to the internet section and you can pick which server you use (US-1 or US-2).

I both archived the DA fiel and ran the install directly from Stardock (two attempts) from the US-2 server (all previous attempts were from the US-1 server), but the extracting again locked up at 45% -- the 'Revolt_Yellow.PNG' file. Is there a way I can manually install the .sdc (or .zip) without having to go through the Stardock application? The file extracts with no problems.

The game needs its registry keys, and SDC needs to set up its own records so it knows the game is installed (and what version, etc). You can try simply unpacking the sdc file manually but I'm not sure how well that would work, because of these things that will be missing.

You're lucky, I can't even get the dang thing to dwonload, and the stardock site only recognizes my account about 1 in 10 times. What happened to these gusy, they used to be great!
