Can't start a game...

I have had the game for some time now, and had just decided to play an easy frackas to kill time when I ran into this problem. I have reinstalled, updated my drivers, and patched to the newest version. The problem is, when I begin a new game, I start normaly, and pick my reaserch and home planet production as is usual, and then I immediately crash upon exiting to the galaxy map screen. I has occured several times. My debug.err is below. Help would be much apreciated.

hi maybe you need more virtual memory put it up to 4000 mb + your cpu is a bit slow but it is ok for a 8 time 8 map. gc2 is mad on ram. and do you have a registry fix programs if not get one it may fix your problem. you can get a free one but if i was you i would get Registry Mechanic it dose the job. by the way my spelling is crap sorry for that.

ps can you let me know if this helps you.

Try running the game at the same as your desktop's resolution, rather than higher.

Well, the settings correspond to the first display device and 1680x1050 is the associated resolution.

But I see 2 sound device 1.

Ah, nevermind that then. It may be worth trying running the game in windowed, though.
