Registering after downloading 1.40x

Hi,

I would appreciate some help. I bought a game in store new not second hand. It played fine. I then downloaded the update of 1.40x. when i try to start the game it asks me to provide an e-mail and a serial number. I provide and e-mail and my serial number however it tells me that I have a stand alone product.

I am getting quite frustrated with this. I have contacted support with this problem and still have not been helped. It has been 4 days since the update.

I have posted my debug, my activation log and my print screen reply.

Please help me.

Did you receive an automated reply to your support mail? If not, your message may have been caught in a spam filter. Likewise, check that messages from support have not been caught in a spam filter on your end.

That aside, have you registered the game? You need to have registered the serial to your email address (the one you used for your forum account) in order to activate. If you haven't registered, you can do so using the 'Register' link at the bottom of this page.

If you have registered, make sure you're using the correct serial. It should be 28 characters long containing only 0-9 and A-F, no dashes or other letters. If you are using a serial that begins with GC2-, check the packaging for another one. The GC2- serials are only for enabling extra content. If you do not have a serial at all that meets the aforementioned format, then you will need to get ahold of support to proceed further.

My game is new not second hand. I don't have a collectors edition. I haven't bought it in italy in Ireland but not Italy. I have tried to register it through stardock central. It isn't accepting my legitimate serial number. i don't know why.

I was never asked to register my e-mail address to a serial number, and to be honest the whole proess has got so confusing - don't know how non techies handle this- ive decided to uninstall 1.40x and reinstall my orignal vers 1.0.

It works so I think that i have to be contented with that.

Thanks for your help, support hasn't replied to me for ages.

so your serial does meet all the requirements kryo mentioned above? and when you input it into the proper box following the "register" link below you get an error that it is not a legit code? you are inputing it without dashes and without spaces, right?

weird

have you tried to download the update/register through stardock central? I wonder if that might work for some odd reason when it doesn't elsewhere. Kryo, any other ideas?

how can i unregister any further owner of my serial ???

Sorry, but second-hand copies cannot be re-registered to a new owner. The serial is permanently bound to the first account it is registered to, so unless the original owner hands over the account, there is nothing that that can be done about it.
