Still having trouble getting started

I keep getting this message while trying to make a character ...

The name you have chosen contains invalid characters.

Only alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9), underscore ( _ ), period ( . ), and hyphen ( - ) characters are valid.
Please fix these errors and try again.

I have tried everything ... including one word names with no luck? I cannot figure out what the problem is. Anyone out there have an idea??? I am totally stumpted and about ready to pull my hair out

I did have this problem at one point and I was never able to solve it...However, when I tried it on a different computer I had no problems at all. If you happen to have access to any other computers, try creating your character on them. After your character is created you can go back to your normal computer. Not exactly solving the problem, but it may get you around it.
