Widgets won't come to front when I hit F9 or F10

widgets are visible, but only by selecting them.

I'm trying to get my dx widgets to come to front, but they seem to be ignoring the F-Key function to show themselves. I've tried changing the default F-Key, yet nothing seems to help. F-Keys work in other applications, so it isn't my keyboard settings... They won't budge, and I have to minimize/move apps to see the widgets/objects. Am I missing something incredibly basic here? Help?

Okay.... it seems the problem isn't the F-Keys but rather the widgets themselves.

The widgets I'm trying to toggle are the calendar and clock that came with the WC Select suite. Apparently, since they are standalone widgets, the F9/F10 toggles don't work for them, but the toggles DO work for regular DX objects.

Is there any way I can get the standalone widgets to respond as well?

Those aren't widgets, they're gadgets.

I think the problem is that gadgets look/act just like widgets in every other way, it is kindof expected to be able to bring them to the foreground in the same manner, and there's no technical reason why this shouldn't be possible....

So basically, I had to toss out those gadgets, and any others like them, as completely useless for me, since I'm not going to get in the habit of minimizing everything on my system every time I want to see the time, weather, etc.

For gadgets it's up to the developers to create hotkeys to bring the gadget to the front. It makes sense if you consider a gadget a standalone application, but it would be nice with an option at compile time to opt for the gadget to respond to DesktopX's widget toggle hotkeys.
You could ask the gadget developer to release a widget version or implement hotkey.
