The thread topic/content may be banal but generally the responses it evinces exemplifies the general intolerance often shown to the 'new'.

I love it when Jafo post's
Sorry Zubaz, But compare that sentence to the starting post. It just blows me away.

You call a person a troll when they post on everybodys thread just to do it, even though they have nothing intelligent to say about the topic, THATS trolling, not making a thread that says "Hello". Too me it looks like YOUR the troll, Webgizmos.

Trolling is typically saying something or doing something just to evoke a response. In posting your thread with the subject "Click here for something amazing!", you started a thread that was guaranteed to get everyone to click it. When you made the first post "Hello" you made it appear that this thread was nothing more than a waste of space. Does that mean you deserved the response you got, definitely not, but does it make the thread any more useful? Not really. I guess all I'm trying to say is, if you want to start a thread to just say hi, then make the subject "Just wanted to say Hi!". That way everyone knows what they're in for when they read the thread.

Just my .02!

I did make the subject that to make everyone click it, but it was just something friendly,

*Edit*
I did make the subject that to make everyone click it, but it was just something friendly, I certainly didnt deserve the response I got. If you clicked my thread and thought "well that was stupid and pointless". click "back" before you decide to reply to it and "harass" me. (Not really harassed, but I cant think of a better word).

Crosswords were once claimed to be the biggest wasters of human resources [time in man-hours/productivity], as their creation was one person taking a few minutes to compose...and countless thousands then spent hour/s solving them...for no practical good reason.

Clicking on meaninglessly inane thread topics and waiting for them to load, etc is much the same.

The ONE difference, however is that the crossword solver knows from the outset that his time will be 'wasted', whereas the forum user here does not.

The final result will likely be that were this thread's author to subsequently post a thread of value/relevance it will likely be summarily ignored by all under the assumption it is yet another time-waster.

Just food for thought...

There was nothing wrong with starting a thread just to say " Hi " You could of made a thread asking everyone " Whats your favourite type of cake or dessert "

Thats a positive way of starting up a friendly type of give and take exchange.
In your mind you thought it was just a clever and funny way to get people to click on your thread. Most of us here are in our 40's and up. Your Title was misleading and caused a negative response. I don't think that was your intention but as Jafo said, future threads are liable to be ignored if you act hostile when you provoked the negative response in the first place. Why don't you try again and think of something to discuss. Everyone likes ' fun ' threads.

I just pass over stuff like this.

I knew someone would say that and I 99% knew it would be youuuuuuu lol
Actually I had passed over it for days after the first time I read it. But I felt the need to be " Motherly " If my son did this I'd just dope slap him He's about the same age.

Yes, if the thread title had said 'Just wanted to say hi!', then you would have got a load of people saying 'hi' back, plus a load of hand waving smilies etc.

Perhaps this will be a good learning experience on how internet users react to certain situations. I hope so

just please, for heaven's sake don't start a thread entitled "fuzzy, why do you call yourself fuzzy logic?"

I would of made the thread title 'Just wanted to say hi!', but thats boring, and I didnt think many would click it lol.
