Declaration of War Window No Longer Appears

I miss those snarky comments

When one of the AI players declares war, a window no longer appears letting me know about my imminent doom. Were these removed as part of the 1.4X update, or do I need to tweak something to turn them back on? I actually miss seeing those taunts and getting a warning that I will soon see some transports heading my way. The surrender windows are gone too.

Also, I was wondering what happened to the minor civilizations. Even though I do not have the minors disabled, there weren't any in the last three games. Are the minors suppressed at higher difficulty levels or is this just a statistical anomaly?

The missing messages is a known issue in 1.4, not sure the status of it being rectified.

Minors are still around, I have six in my current game.

Frogboy has commented that this will be addressed in the next GC2 patch, sometime after DA is out.

Good. Beating somone just isn't that satisfying when you don't get them grovelling for mercy when they surrender to you.
