Captain Abola and Nightmares

Dear World,
I had a bad dream last night. Strange, because something good apparently happened- Captain Abola and 29 young rebels surrendered!
In my dream, the Captain was surrounded by journalists as he talked about his life in the bushes. He was smiling and even posing a little. He seemed to be enjoying the spotlight. At the end he looked straight at a television camera and said he was grateful to Kony. We guessed he meant he was thankful to the "dreadlocked one" because had not had him killed when he was abducted several years ago. But that was just our guess (mine, to be specific, since it was my dream). Then he began to talk about religion. And all the while, the cameras were rolling and clicking away furiously. Everyone was mesmerized. Everybody had a new hero. Even the President called to say how great a development this was.
I was alarmed. I don't know why. But I seemed to be the only one who saw a devil in an angel's mien. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, or a wet blanket, or both. But Captain Abola scared me stiff.
Which is why I need your help to make sense of all this. Why can't I appreciate what a momentous development this surrender was? Why can't I trust that there's nothing sinister about it, not hidden motives?
Waiting for your insights,
Your's,
Otim (a former abducted child rebel)
