Morale Bug?

...It's happened to me on a few games

Hello,

I seem to be getting a strange morale bug.

Fairly early in the game, all of a sudden my home planet has an approval rating of 1%. Note that taxes aren't that high, I have the dominant influence in this sector and there's nothing that I see that should be getting me this crazy low morale.

When I mouse over the morale on the planet, I see:

Morale: 1%
-10% from Population
-36% from Taxes
+17% from buildings on Planet
+- (NOTE PLUS NEGATIVE) 2147483648% from Native Ability
+10% from High Quality Planet

That 214783648 sure looks like a bug....

Am I missing something? Should I be so low in Morale?

Here's a link to a screenshot:

Help me out...

I experienced this as well on my first large galaxy game. I had a dominant position, then all of a sudden, I had red 1%. I went from a 61% approval rating down to 1% with no warning and no apparent reason. This was empire wide.

I lowered taxes, built more morale boosters, but nothing worked. Finally my best planets rebelled and formed a seperate empire.

I couldn't figure it out either.

Is this a definate bug?

Thanks

Is this happening every game you play?

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

This morale issue does not happen every game, but it has happened more than once.

I loaded up a saved game where this bug is occuring. Took one turn. A good number of my colonies flipped and formed a neutral race on this turn. Quit, and grabbed the debug.err file

Posting debug.err

Ok, you're on the latest version and not using mods. If it does occur again on a new game, please save the game, exit immediately, then send the save (zipped) along with the debug.err to [email protected] with a description of the issue, so the devs can examine it (The debug.err is replaced each time you run the game, so it'd be best to have one that includes the point where the error actually occurred).

Done.

If anyone wants to load up a SAV to see if they see the same thing, here's a bugged game of mine.

Help,

My empire.. has most of the galaxy *war isnt a moral issue when it happens*
I have the secret service improvement and I have all the farming and happiness upgrades, my homeworld's morale is at 40-61% I have been trying for the past several turns buying troop trans to reduce pop and adding virtual reality centers to improve its morale since I noticed its approval showed 40%. Two of my worlds show the same thing. I have added 4 virtual reality centers to my homeworld ..along with populace reductions and it still shows low approval. When I get my pop low enough *buying those troop transports and sending them out* this seems to increase the approval back to where it should be for the one or two turns it takes to get pop back up. I also have neutral ethics which should help and I also have a race bonus that should help. But it doesnt help. If anything its like I am getting negative morale each turn even though I should have an amazing bonus. It is very iritating cause even after adding all the morale bonus's improvements I cant make the morale stay up at all unless I get rid of pop. Homeworld was originally 12? and I think and when pop is above 19b *about* I loose morale no matter what improvements I have.
