Demo, full version 1.40x.067, and mods

mods wont work

Ok, not much of a problem, but still rather annoying.
I got the demo about 2 weeks ago and ended up buying the full version collecter's edition of the game online here at galciv2.com.
I forgot to uninstall the demo first though.
After playing through a couple of quick games I decided to take a look at some of the mods out there (Kyro's ship hull mod, The Transformers full conversion 2, and some of the extra ships people have made).
The problem is that the only folders the game will allow me to select are the demo's mod folder (...GalCiv2demo\Mods\Default) and Example. Only now the demo is gone after I bought the game I didn't see any use for it so I deleted it. There shouldn't be a demo folder listed anywhere.
Basically I was wondering if I just need to uninstall uninstalled EVERYTHING galciv 2, and wether or not if I do will stardock central allow me to reinstall it? Or am I going to have to wait for the cd copies of the game to get to me through the mail?
It said something about how I could reinstall it as many times as I like for the rest of my life when I bought it, but I can't remember if it was talking about from Stardock Central or from the game cds themselves.
Is there any alternative way I can fix this?
Again, the only ones it allows me to chose from are the now nonexistant GalCiv2demo\mod folder and an example folder I cant find anywhere. I've tried to type in a new area but none of there text I attmpt to enter shows up. If anything my trying to type in the area where it lists the path on my computer just results in the entire box turnng a blank white and not even tryig to switch back and forth bewteen demo\mod\default and example won't bring text back to the area. I end up having t o exit the game and restart it.

If you uninstall via Stardock Central and reinstall, that should do the trick. You should even be able to archive your existing game files from within SDC so you don't have to re-download it all.

You may also want to try editing your prefs.ini file located in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2. Just change the ModsDir location and that should change it in the game as well.

don't really trust myself enough to start making adjustments in the game's coding, but I'll give the sdc unin/rein thing you saida try. Thanks dude.
