So WindowBlinds 5.49 is only for Pc's that have Vista installed? So if that is true it looks like if you don't have a vista machine you won't be doing any WindowBlind updates. I would think these WindowBlind versions are going to get installed on the wrong pc's. (My old Inspiron laptop won't be able to run Vista darn it!)

Hey I got it switched to beta on XP but I keep hearing beeps all the time. Is that supposed to happen? Never happened before with 5.1.

Giving it a shot right now. Works pretty well, even the transparent taskbar is 'live'

So far the only issues I've found are that changing the skin caused explorer to die (got the vista 'something bad happened to explorer' dialog ), and Office 2007, while it skins well, the titlebar buttons don't work, and there are some artifacts in the client area (on Excel at least). No show stoppers, though, and I'm pretty sure most of these will be fixed in future releases.

Great stuff so far!

Wanna hear something funny? I thought it was my laptop making the beeps when installing the beta. Well, I walked the kitchen to cook me some tator tots to snack on and forgot that my cellphone was in my pocket. I heard the beeps again and thought it was in my head and then pulled out my cellphone and the battery is dying. I have to recharge it. I thought that was funny. So it has nothing to do with windowblinds 5.5 at all.

Aleatoric:

I can confirm both of your bugs so far.

The explorer dying does happen for me and so does the titlebar button issue in Office 2k7

I'm running WindowBlinds 5.49(c) on Windows Vista Beta Pre-RC and (so far!) no problems at all. Thanks Stardock! God how i missed WindowBlinds!

All that this program needs now in terms of users of Windows Vista, is a Vista-exclusive skin. I actually quite like Aero, but there are one or two little bits of it I don't like.
Thanks Stardock for a wonderful program! Any chance of improving Windows Vista Explorer?

Running this now, looks great

The only problem is, since installing this, I've been getting this funny burning smell

Well---- I installed it on my version of Vista and it crashed explorer on the first skin change!

I restarted and then it hung my desktop prior to loading all startup items.

Third restart and now all seems ok- so far.

Only thing is I run webshots on my desktop and on every restart windowblinds applies its wallpaper and I can't seem to find out how to stop that.

All in all I plan on using it and seeing how it goes.
