Problems with AntiVirus programs

Hey guys,

Sorry it's me again. Earlier I made a post that looked a lot like this one, but I've tried everything you guys told me to and nothing seems to work out.

My problem is that my anti virus programs won't scan properly. I run Norton AntiVirus 2006 (which is crap). In the middle of the scan it suddenly says that an error has appeared, and then I have to close the damn thing. The same thing happens when I run AVG (the free addition). In the middle of a scan it suddenly f*cks up.

I also run Microsoft's Windows Defender Beta 2 (or something like that). My Windows Defender works properly and everytime I run it, it seems to have found something, but it won't remove it. Once in a while I also run the free system check on Live OneCare. It also seems to have found something, but it doesn't remove it I think. I think my computer is infected with something ..

Thx for any reply

Does either one give it a name or do you just get a pop up that says "Hey, I found something but I won't remove it"?

I would start by completely removing all but one of the anti-virus programs. Most companies do not provide anti-virus programs that are compatible with other anti-virus programs.

Once you decide on one of the many competent anti-virus programs and install it by itself, you should be able to run without issue.

Good luck.

Thx. But the reason why I got AVG and Windows Defender was that my Norton AntiVirus didn't work, so the problem had occured before that.

Rather than install yet another program and simply add to the potential problems...go online and use an online scanner.

Preferably just hunt up the old thread...and refer to it again...re solutions posted.

Multiple threads simply dilutes your likelihood of success, as no-one may be aware of the prior history on the 'other' thread/s...

Thx but I've already used an online scanner.

Another wierd problem has occured. I know that I've already posted it before, but now I've taken a screenshot of it. It's about an odd program which probably shouldn't be there, and it's taking a lot of my harddisk space

Oh sh*t, Guys. I forgot. How do you post pictures? Thx.
