The Great Bush Economy

Today my wife received a letter from the Harry Chapin Food Bank of SW Florida which she supports. Let me quote from the first paragraph of this letter dated 3 November 2006:

“Requests for our services continue to increase – the cause for alarm is real. With 50,000 plus people asking the food bank for emergency food each month, one has to wonder why. According to the U.S. Census and U.S. Department of Agriculture, since 2000, the number of Americans living below the poverty line has steadily grown. Now 13 % - 37 million Americans – are officially poor. This is not good news since we are seeing these very effects in Southwest Florida.”

I think Bush should send each and every one of these 37 Million Americans a letter with the good news about the stock market being up. Corporate profits being up, the increase in lower paying jobs and the increase in the GDP. I am sure that will make them understand they are doing well under the economic policies in our country!

I love how you can relate that Bush. People are poor because of their own decisions, not Bush. More news about wages col.....
n addition, average hourly earnings rose 0.4 percent in October to $16.91, an increase of 3.9 percent over the past 12 months after adjusting for inflation. The latest trends help ease the grip on family finances commonly called the middle-class squeeze.

That is PURE BUNK. No one would wish themselves to be poor. What this shows is two things. First a disregard for 37 Million Americans and a condition that has been getting worse during the Bush Administration! That does not show anything like a GOOD ECONOMY.

First of all, old ignorant one, people will say anything to get you to give them money. Second, realize that this problem did not start during the Bush administration so if you wanna blame someone for their problems blame the people with the problem cause poor people been here since way before Bush became President. Also, poor has many definitions, depending on the persons belief. Many would consider me poor, I consider myself to be doing just fine, sure I don't have a 2006 or 2007 car, I don't have a 60" TV or a Blueray DVD player, but I have the necessities and more. Enough for now.

Obviously people do not want to be poor, however, people don't want to be smart either. Just look at politics today, most people don't even know why they vote for anyone, according to you, half the American population is dumb simply because they voted for Bush, twice. For some reason people want to be poor, they just don't know it. Day in and day out I see homeless people standing on almost every corner here in West Palm Beach asking for money, from early in the day, to late at night. I ask myself time and time again, how is it that they can be standing there for so many hours asking for money, under the hot Florida sun, day in and day out? How is it that they can not apply this same motivation to find a job and to work? Can't work? Bull, they work everyday for more than 8 hours asking for money. Can't find work? Bull, I have 2 jobs and applied for another. Don't pay enough? Bull, I get paid $16 an hour. There is no excuse, except ignorance and in many cases stupidity.

Of course they do col. I can tell you many stories of people who would rather stay on government assistance, and be poor, rather than going out and getting a job. Being poor is a choice in this country, and the biggest problem is people like you (democrats) think that by giving constant handouts that it will solve the problem. Which is completely wrong.
