Automatic Ship Movement

I'm playing the latest (1.40x) version.

I'm a new player, and I think I don't fully understand ship movement.

If I left-click on a ship and then right-click on a destination that is several turns away, it goes as far as it can. Then, when I click the "end turn" button I expect the ship to again move as far as it can for the new turn. It doesn't. I have to left-click on the ship and then right-click the destination. Am I doing something wrong?

Also:

- Is there a way to set my scout ships to auto-explore?

- Is there a hotkey for moving to the next ship that hasn't moved yet?

Yes. You can only move once a turn. You said it moved part way. That was as far as it could go this turn. You must now wait until the next turn. Leave set on your destination. Before you click the TURN button, move over your map to where you can see the ship but leave it alone. Hit Turn. You will see it move another few spaces. And it will move at the end of each turn until it arrives. And yes, you can set your scout to auto-explore in the ship actions menu.

Mine does not act that way.

I will set the auto-pilot, and the ship will move until it has no more mp left.
Then I hit Turn, and the ship will not move during that next turn.
When I hit Turn the second time, the ship will resume to its destination.

And my ships are always the first ships to move during a turn, so they move immediatly at the beginning of the turn, not at the end of it.

Thanks Pro. I'm used to Civilization where units on auto-pilot move at the START of a turn. I should have just waited.

Is there a hotkey to jump to ships that have movement points left?

You know, I'm not sure. I don't auto-much, I'm one of those goons who micromanages everything and somehow thinks it's fun. There is a hotkey thread somewhere here where eberyone lists the hotkeys and it's a recent post.

Pressing TAB takes you to the next active ship, more or less. To set a scout to autoexplore, press W, and to set a surveyor (flagship) to target anomlies, press A. There's a keyboard page at WWW Link that's a bit more up to date than the manual.
