Offset screen

i just bought and installed the game and i was wondering why it does not fit my screen when it runs everything is over to the right of the screen on the game. I cant even play it.

If you post the contents of your debug.err file it might indicate what the problem is.
It is located in the main game folder, usually C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2.

You can open the file with Notepad, then select all, copy and paste it into the reply.

Please go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2 (or wherever you installed the game at), open the debug.err file you find there in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Also are you running a windows UI alteration program such as Windowblinds? If so set the program to not skin Galciv.exe and galciv launch.exe

This is one of the primary issues i have found for your trouble.

You should also open the file 'prefs.ini' in your my docs/my games/GCII folder and look for the lines: -

DisplayWidth=1280
DisplayHeight=1024

The numbers may differ but make sure they are no smaller than the screen resolution you are running (you can change the resolution in the game later). Once you have altered the above save and then try running the game again.
