Some submissions just don't make the cut.

You don't always get a rejection email, I believe.

I've had a few rejections over the years, and haven't rec'd an email. I just move on and make something else, whilst trying to improve my work at the same time.

Hope that clears it up a little for you.

Thanks for the reply!

However, if my OD tiles got through on quality, I seriously doubt that my rainlendar skins got rejected for quality as I spent 4x the time on them as I did on the OD tiles. Judge for yourself http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/41218765/.

In any event, I think that's extremely disrespectful of wincustomize to not even acknowledge a submission, rejected or otherwise. I don't understand, if they treat skinners so, why anyone submits here? People donating their time to create stuff for free and don't even get an acknowledgment form the site that profits from their creation?!

I will assume its a bug in the site and resubmit. If I don't get even an acknoledgement this time, I'm pulling my skins from here and never submitting here again.

I believe uploading is currently not working the way it should. There are severeal threads reporting problems floating around right now.

Hang in there; your Rainy looks really cool, and unless the zip was corrupted or the skin didn't work, I don't see a reason why it should not have been accepted. I really think it was a bug in the system.

Thats being rather silly - your not the only one with a rainlendar in the queue.

If you read other threads you'd see that sometimes uploads get messed up. I have ALWAYS recieved and email from Moderation -accepted - rejected - or told to reupload.

Thanks! I just resubmitted because it really has to be a bug in the system. Its impossible for a site that profits from the work of submitters to treat a submission with disprespect like:

I've had a few rejections over the years, and haven't rec'd an email.

I mean that's just deleteing the submission without even an acknoledgement. Like its garbage. No matter how it looks, someone took time to actually make it and thought it was good, and it should be treated with respect.

I did a seach before I posted and didn't find anything. That info should be in a sticky . Thanks! and

It's only just been perceived as a problem....with uploads.

When it comes to rejections and/or not receiving emails.... actual skins are only rejected if there is a specific issue with them...eg they do not work...they are rips...or the upload failed in some way.

Wallpapers are generally the exception and 'may' be rejected without reason/email sent as 'quality' is more of an issue and in the past moderators have been inundated with quite unpleasant responses to rejection emails.  The vileness of the few affects the many as now it's uncommon to receive a rejection email for walls.

At the moment re-submit emails due to upload failure won't be going out...not until the bug is sorted first...

I didn't realize that rejection/acceptance emails come from an actual address. It sucks that some some people can't take criticism. That, however, shouldn't be a detriment to people who maybe need some guidance and, frankly, all subs need to be treated to the very least level of respect which is an acknowledgement of: "well thank you for contributing your efforts to our community, but your submission doesn't meet with our needs".

I have a real easy solution. Have the rejection emails be sent from a bot forwarder which just bounces replies back to the sender. Its real easy to set that up.

And having a bot handle submission rejections rather than a 'real' person doing so is more 'respectful' exactly how?...

Actually, automatic generic rejection emails sent to anyone who has a submission rejected.  It is from a bot, it doesn't have a return address that makes it to a human being.  Moderators have the additional option of sending a second, more specific email with an explanation if they so choose.  This is why often people will see two rejection emails from WinCustomize.

Also, sometimes the rejections get flagged as spam on the user-end.  In that case, there's little we can do to solve the problem.

Wouldn't make it past any decent spam filter either.

Sorry, I think you are misunderstanding me. I said a bot forwarder. Meaning a SMTP server setup to forward emails (from a human) and stamp them with a bot's address. My company has set up many of these and they are easy to do. The ones we set up are more advanced allowing the sever to recieve replies and forward them back to the originating emailer. But that is not even what I am suggesting here as that is not needed. So it is extremely easy to do. The spam issue is a non-issue. If its set up right, the emails will not be tagged as spam. None of the similar setups we have done gets stuck in spam filters unless they are setup with the filter-everything-except-from-known-senders-type.

My work has been found. Thanks!

Cindi...it was never lost.....at least it didn't take any finding....'twas in the queue where it was supposed to be...

Thanks Jafo. I think I'm having problems here! lol!! It showed in the queue for me until late last night around midnight and then it was gone. It even was gone off my stats page as a category I have entered skins for. I also have disappearing comments. I have taken a thread out on the matter and hope it hasn't disappeared too!
