The Purpose Driven Life, Chapter Thirteen

Worship That Pleases God

Where you worship is not as important as why you worship and how much of yourself you offer to God when you worship. Worship that pleases God has four characteristics:

ACCURATE-based on the truth of Scripture, not our opinions about God.

AUTHENTIC-genuine and heartfelt-your spirit responding to God's Spirit.

THOUGHTFUL-be specific when you praise God.

PRACTICAL-God is pleased with the sacrifices of worship: thanksgiving, praise, humility, repentance, money, prayer, serving others, etc.

Worship costs us our self-centeredness. It also takes effort and energy. It is not always convenient or comfortable. When you praise God even when you don't feel like it, when you get out of bed to worship when you're tired, or when you help others when you are worn out, you are offering a sacrifice of worship to God.

These are all true, but what does the scripture say about worship. This may be an idea that could come from a wordsearch.

"If you're the Poetmom, then where's all the poems?"

That's a legitimate question....I suppose I should start posting one now and then....:)
