Crashing while trying to load save games.

I am a little new here, but for some reason, after updating the game with the latest patch, the game always crashes when I try and load a saved game. I went back and deleted all my saved games, and started over. But, galciv2 still crashes while trying to load the saved games.

Any chance that this is an old bug that I am just stumbling across?

Just to update my own post. I found out, that if I start a new game and then load the saved game, it does not crash.

If you have saves that consistently crash, zip then up and send them to [email protected].

It could be the known fact that saved games from previous versions have always crashed the newer version.

It is always advisable to update between games for that very reason. The updated code of the newer version is sometimes incompatible with games saved in an older version.

That's why your games saved with the new version don't crash, but the others did.

Agreed with Moosetek, DO NOT upgrade while still playing a game, its better to finish the current game and THEN update. Can you post the debug.err file on C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2
Open it up with notepad and post its FULL contents here and let us know what your computer's hardware is and stuff.

Well, he already said that games started and saved with the new version do not crash, so there is probably no need for a debug.
