F.E.A.R. and loathing in Vista

I have a decent system that will run all of the latest games on XP with MOST of the eye-candy set to High. I've got an Athlon 64 4000+, an MSI K8N Platinum mobo, 2GB's of RAM, an nVidia 7600 VidCard, SATA HDD, etc., etc. I installed a clean copy of Vista RC1 that seemed to go fairly smoothly. I installed Office 2K3 and my other "needed" apps, but then I wanted to install my games to see how Vista handled those. I installed 3 games to see if they worked: F.E.A.R., Quake IV and TitanQuest. All three games installed fine, but I got different results with all three.

1. F.E.A.R., surprisingly, ran immdediately, but seemed to stutter a little. I
exited to the menu to lower my settings, but at that point, the game froze and I
had to end the process to get back to Vista. Has anyone gotten this game to run
right? How?
2. Quake IV installed fine and the id screens started to appear when I started the
game. Then nothing. No video, no sound, nothing. I have read about OpenGL in
Vista and thought that there were native drivers included in RC1. Is there
somewhere I need to enable OpenGL?
3. TitanQuest was the only one to actually run correctly, but not after some
working with. I had to use the Compatibility Wizard, but once I did, the game
seemed to run fine. The weird part was that after the machine was rebooted, the
game needed the Comp. Wiz. to be run AGAIN for the game to run. Has anyone seen
this? Or is this a bug that is being kinked out?

If anyone has had good/great luck with getting games to run in Vista, can you please reply to this? I would love to know how you did it. Or maybe my install DIDN'T go as well as I thought!!

Thanx!

Im having issues with games as well.

AMD X2 64 4400+ OC'd to 2.6 (Liquid cooled)
DFI NF4 SLI-DR
2 GB PC-5000
2 74 GB raptors
BFG 7800 GTX OC
X-fi

FEAR for me will install and run.... but after 10 min my frames go down to about 5 FPS. I try to lower all the settings to medium.... and still after 10 min go down to 5 FPS.
Im also getting this same problem with windows media player... Watchin a movie... running fine... boom... 5 fps. With media player its less annoying though; All I do is go out of full screen and back in and its fine for about 2 hours.

Half life 2 will barely work at all. It installs and runs(including the mods I play) but... no matter what I get about 5-10 FPS.

I have no idea how to fix these problems. I installed XP as well, so my other HDD is used for XP, games, and storage.
