1.31 Invasion/Peace Treaty/Surrender(?) Crash

it's my second time playing, and I'm about 7 turns from an influence victory on a small map.. so, of course I decide "hey, I'll send a transport over to everyone's homeworld, grab it, and try to flip the other planets before the influence victory kicks in"
after I invade the homeworld, I call up the diplomacy screen and sign a peace treaty.. which is a pretty cheap thing to do admittedly, but it worked, so, I thought "yay!" after I end the turn, I get a crash to desktop as the last of my autopilot ships finishes it's movements and it's about to be my turn again, every time.. I tried once on the dengins, saved before the peace treaty there, luckily, so I reloaded and resigned the treaty.. crashed every time, except for when I didn't sign the treaty.. and on the next turn, the drengins surrendered their last planet to another civ. I had somewhere between 10 and 15 influence over that planet since I had the old homeworld, and +109% influence (influence resources, that +50% one from the united planets, etc) I thought it might just have been a special situation.. but when I invaded another civ's homeworld and signed a peace treaty.. same crash is repeating again.. over and over again.. same influence over the other planet in the system (though this alien has 2 more planets elsewhere)

so, a quick summary:
-invade AI home planet, crushing it's only military might in the process
-Sign Peace Treaty
-have influence rating high enough to flip one or more of their remaining planets (probably not an issue)
-end turn
-crash to desktop

though I know without the peace treaty at least one of the alien civs was going to surrender on the next turn as it was completely crushed, but there was no crash (war was started and ended in one turn)


I'm on a french version of Windows XP, but the game's installed in english, here's the debug.err.. though it doesn't really say much..

If you have a saved game that repeatedly crashes, please send it to [email protected] with your debug.err file and instructions for reproducing the crash. The debug.err file can be found in c:/program files/stardock/totalgaming/galciv2.

I've emailed the save files, as well as the debug.err, previously I had emailed the smartexception report that happened with a different save and debug (I included that save as well and said as much), I included the case ID # in my latest email with the saves, as well as instructions for what to do with each of the saves

I figured I should say something here so that any viewers of this report will know that I followed up the bug report by sending as much info as I was able
