Complaining about the events post-facto is what I am getting at. The GUI Olympics judging is fairly similar to how it was done last time and that went without a hitch. Obviously one can always improve any system if enough effort is put into it. Our advice would be that those who feel this contest is poorly run set up their own contest and run it as they would.

This little contest was a joke. Enough said. Also, it's bullshit that only premium members get to vote for user's choice. Pure bullshit.

Frogboy sorry tobother you once more, but yeah we WILL make our own international competition as a winamp community real soon (I'll inform you to know if you are interested) and this competition won't have any catchy and illegal name such is "Olympics" PS: Just a question, do you (not you personaly but the organizers) have licence to use this name or written permission from International laws? VAG, no offense, but as I haven't even heard of the contest you're talking about, I'm not completely sure you should say that it will be made as a winamp community, as it can be misleading, making people think the _entire_ winamp community is onboard this one, which I highly doubt they are, yet anyways.. I know I'm not, yet anyways.. And this goes to everyone: Let's not stir shit up again here, a discussion is beeing held on the forums, and personally I think _everyone_ should stop with the flame throwing and instead start a constructive discussion about this whole thing, on the forums, not here.

Ok let me correct it Plague, a group of friends and Greek companies will make one ONLY for WA skins but more news in WA forums soon....... I've thrown them that idea last week, with prizes only cash, so everyone can buy whatever he wants, and other goodies.... EMP2 is a good skin no doubt, but as someone else said, its a bit of a slap in the face to allow it to win opposite catagories. and as for power user, i REALLY want to know how impulse has more/better power user features, iv been looking at it and looking at it.... im not continuing the shitfight, as said we are over it, i just want some clear reasons to sort things out.

I can double click the playlist in D-R, like I can on the wa5 modern skin and every classic skin, and get a stick mode, but for EMP I have to freakin button to get it into stick mode, and there is no non-tooltip lable. there aer some black smudges, but I can't make those out at my resolution (1152*864)closed the playlist twice before getting a stick mode out of it. All any of its mode/close buttons have are black marks which I can't see becase my MOUSE POINTER IS ON THE BUTTON WHEN THEY DISPLAY! How is that better usability than clearly marked buttons and a double-click-to-stick playlist? Explain that to me please.

furthermore: where is the menue button on EMP2's stick mode? What about DR's docking capability? Tell me how that doesn't make it more usable than EMP?

dlinkwit27 EMP2 is also a double click-able windows.... and also in the playlist.... and everything has lables... not like other skins.... and if you are asking for labels for the top part where ut says file, play, etc... then u most be blind... I dont understand what u are saying about the close buttons... but let me tell you that EMP2 buttons are very clear and u dont have to search them every time and wait for a label to appear to check if that is the right button.... Btw... in the stick mode u can get the menu if u make a right click... ¬¬ ... well at least I think u asked for that menu... and c'mon... all the skins have dock capabilities... and u can modify it in the winamp preferences.... but again this is just my opinion and the judges may have different ideas...

damn i need an edit button. I found EMP2's area to double click to make the playlist a stick-mode. Very bottom left of the "titlebar." I accidently found it, but I did. Still though, it's a VERY small area to find, and it shoudl be the entire titlebar area which has no lables. (ie, the playlist editor text, the area in between help and the minimum (or is it close? let me wait a few seconds for the tooltip since I can't see a lable on it anywhere) buttons)

Stop the diplomacy and just say it: EMP2 looks liks shit. it's revoltingt o see a few hundred kb's webspaces wasted on such a horrific piece of "art". A good winamp skin is indeed a lot more complicated to make than a windowblinds skin or icons package. I said a GOOD winamp skin, not some noobs crap like 90% of the entries. Muniom, Plague and rpeterclark know something about it, they're some of the best skinners/coders in the business, and their opinion is the only that weights something in this long assboring speeches page. but right, the wincustomize people cant know that, all they do is download icons and wallpapers

Unfortunately for them, it appears that the peasantry is the one who gets to judge the entries.
