the value of a planet

i don't know if this is a bug, but the planets are almost worthless. i tried to trade 2 class 15 planets for a mining starbase (with only a couple upgrades), and the enemy wouldn't do it. on every game, i can only trade a planet for a few ships or something worthless. if i want to trade a planet, it should be worth a lot. they will only pay maybe 10000 bc for my planet, but the same class of planet costs me 50000+ bc. even though it would only take a few months to make back all of their money in taxes. the trade value of planets and star bases really needs to be tweaked. i get far more for my ships than i do for my planets or bases.

i also built an influence base near an allied planet (completely upgraded) and they won't even give me 1 influence point or 1 bc for it, even though that planet is about to revolt due to being on the edge of enemy territory.

and even if i GIVE them a planet or a fully upgraded star base, they don't even remember it in a few turns. they won't let go of a ship or anything. the bigger the gift, the longer they should remember.

Trade was nerfed ages ago because everyone complained about it.

This is why trading is completely unrealistic in GC2 now.

Just curious, why would people complain about giving a planet its due value in trade.

Players took advantage of the AI by using cheesy tactics, the AI could not handle trade, so the developers took the 'easy' way out and made everything expansive to trade with the AI or made the AI not sell at any price ie...a mining resource the AI will not trade for yr entire empire.

Ah, sounds reasonable. I suppose you could strip the AI if you could get their stuff without too much expense on your part. Planets can be pretty easy to come by later in the game.

well, even trade aside, if i give them one because i want a race to like me, it still barely raises how much they like me. if someone gave me an entire planet, i think i would be thrilled about it, and remember later on.
